Today
is special - it would have been my mum's 100th birthday. She lived to the fine age of 95. I think she'd have been delighted that the Olympics open today - her dressmaker's eye would have dwelt on the athlete's uniforms as much or more than their performances. It is good to be living in her house, and to be able to take her some flowers from her garden. She and my dad are interred in the churchyard where my great grandfather, his father, and his grandfather were all Rectors, a few miles from where I live now.
