Tree Swallows!

Terry was inspired the other day to build some little houses for tree swallows....we have had barn swallows flitting in and out of the addition to the studio and we think they are building a nest like they have done for the past few years.   But we've also noticed lots of tree swallows flying around so Terry built 5 houses and the other day i helped him install 2 of them.   Less than 24 hours later we had potential occupants.  And here is the couple that has taken over the house at the end of the garden.  The extra image is of the house in context.

The other extra is of Terry playing the guitar last night while we waited for the quiche i made for dinner.   I have a confession, this is the first time i've ever made quiche...at the tender age of 64....and it was damn good!   We also watched a fabulous movie about Emily Carr, Winds of Heaven - it was great.   Went into great depth about her inspiration, her life and her desire to paint, even altho she was mostly discouraged!   Made me feel so sad to think of yet another female artist being ignored, just because she was female!!!  I have a very happy story about getting this movie!   When i was in Victoria a few weeks ago i bought the other movie that was for sale....about 3 artists....i was very disappointed and wrote a short note to the Emily Carr House telling them how wonderful their house was and all that it entailed and that i had purchased one of the movies and was disappointed....within an hour i received a reply telling me they would be sending me the other one immediately, free of charge!  How's that for good PR!   I was so grateful for their generosity, and had not expected this to happen.   So, we got to see it last  night and it was wonderful.
