Too early - too late
The best night's sleep for ages, and then what happens, I forget to take the alarm off my Blackberry (I don't use either a bedside clock or an alarm but decided not to tempt fate when off to London yesterday) and it went off, at 6.30. Disturbed a really lovely dream and then of course I had to get up and switch it off as the Blackberry alarm, unlike my Samsung, just keeps giving!
Back to sleep and finally woke at 9. Day off today. So far I:
missed ringing bells, and have not heard any either, at 8.12
haven't made it to the pool,
sent some work e-mails (ok, the BB is off now)
bought milk (11p dearer in Margiotta than Tesco)
perused my new Sardinia guidebook which arrived, very swiftly, from Lonely Planet today
not opened the Mandarin book/CD package which also arrived (maybe a bit too ambitious there.
missed the Red Arrows Olympic fly past up the Royal Mile - well I saw it but forgot (having told my team yesterday) this morning so didn't have the camera at the ready. The vaguely coloured smoke is all that I managed to catch.
reclaimed and replaced the herb planter that fell off the windowsill in the gales a few days ago, for the second time. Descending 4 flights at speed does nothing for the plastic, although the plants seem to survive.
Now I must leave you to go and do some weeding, unless it rains, first time for about 2 months. Off to 'the Filling Station' tonight for a farewell 'do'.
