As Surreal As It Gets, Aylesford
Today was the very last day in my work studio. I've emptied it of everything that I could or that wasn't nailed down. It looked slightly forlorn and a bit down at heal but strangely cavernous without all the lighting equipment, easel and work station. My work station is like a three tiered desk and it managed to bite back when I slipped and clattered my shin into one of the metal bars - I've got a nice big bruise beginning to colour.
Over the past twelve years or so it has been my home from home and I'm unsure the new studio will feel quite the same. Hopefully, the acoustics will be just as good because my old studio was brilliant for playing music in. I've been so lucky to be able to play music while I work - it's amazing what a good sing along (and even dance along - badly!) does for your morale when you're having a bad day. I'm off on holiday for a couple of weeks so when I come back my new studio should have started to rise from the ashes.
