I travelled from Norfolk to Lincoln to visit family and friends and I honestly couldn't have picked a more difficult weekend to do so. All was well until Peterborough, when the connecting train to Lincoln broke down outside the station. We were sent to platform 4 to board the already very crowded Newcastle train which made an unscheduled stop at Newark to drop us off, we then waited over an hour to make a short journey to Lincoln. I got chatting to a group of people who were heading to Lincoln for an Elton John concert. 17,000 people were expected to attend which explained the overcrowding and the horrendous gridlock when we eventually arrived! I hope it was a fun evening but Elton John in the rain .................?
