Incredible Milestone
It's been quite a day! Three major things happening...
First off was being able to watch the special service held at St. Paul's to mark the Queen's 90th birthday. SO THRILLED that BBC World showed the whole service live. I hadn't realised that the date isn't set in June. G explained it is the 2nd Saturday of June... how incredible then it coincides with Prince Philip's 95th birthday! You couldn't have planned it that way if you'd tried!
It was incredible to see the whole service... reminded me a lot of the Anglican service I went to for years! G was able to sing all the hymns and remembered the prayers too!! (She had to attend three services every Sunday whilst in college!) All I can say is, the Queen is incredible - especially at 90!
This was followed by the funeral of Muhammad Ali; which went on for several hours longer than the Queen's service. In fact, it was so long, we switched off for a few hours!
And then of course, it is the start of EURO 2016!! I think it's great France has been able to keep to schedule with all that has happened over the last couple of weeks. Floods, strikes. I didn't realise the garbage collectors had not done their job for so long. Good luck to the visitors!! And the teams of course; but mostly to the poor security personnel and police who are going to be working non-stop overtime to keep everyone safe.
