Celebration
Today is the start of the official 90th birthday celebration of our Queen. As she is head of the Church of England all the churches have been asked to celebrate in some way this weekend.
We have been decorating our church today ready for a 'street party' tea and concert tomorrow. All the tables have been laid with bone china tea cups and red, white and blue serviettes.
Chris was there early putting up bunting inside and out and several ladies have been asked to make red, white and blue flower arrangements and bring any Royal memorabilia.
Jean does many of our church flower arrangements and I think she has excelled herself with these cup cake arrangements which are in the church entrance. They just have to be my flower Friday blip.
She and Mike have also decorated the arch over the church door. (Just seen Corinthian Column has posted the door arch too https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2187943991960407600 )
The village society have put Union flag bunting on the war memorial and village centre shops so it's all looking very jolly.
I'm also in the entertainment with the Harden Players and singing group so will be going back tonight for a final rehearsal. I've been asked to take the photographs too (might need an able assistant when we are performing) so you will be seeing more tomorrow!
Very muggy today; we had a wet walk this morning the only highlight of which was spotting 6 Roe deer. We were a bit concerned they were going to jump into the road as it was very busy at 8.15am but although we had obviously spooked them they just ran along parallel to the road.
I hope you have good weather this weekend if you are in the UK and celebrating this special event.
