'Hang on to your roots'

Great to see No. 2 son James today who flew in from Sydney last night ( yes...I was at the airport to pick him up in the wee hours of the morning)
went for a drive to see some friends in North Canterbury today, stopped at my favourite tree along the way - south of Cheviot on a plateau above a gorge - should know the name but can't remember ( have driven past it numerous times on the way to Kaikoura)! It has always amazed me how it has hung on for dear life, it's roots hanging over the edge.
It reminded me of how Sam and James should never forget their roots and
hold on tight to their mana and whanau ..... Kia Kaha
