Animal, Vegetable of Mineral?

Wet overnight and this morning resulting in several puddles on the woodland path for our walk. This one, under some rowan trees, 1m by 2m, was covered with swirls of white and yellow material which I could not identify, but it made interesting patterns. It seemed to be a surface layer, but was quite still in the water. Extra of a more detailed shot (not as sharp as I would like as did not have my proper camera with me)
