Grapevine
Today's the day ........................ for climate change
Like most Brits, the folk round here spend a fair amount of time - talking about the weather.
And I've noticed recently that quite a lot of bewilderment and incomprehension has crept into conversations. This is mainly because folk round here are used to having vast quantities of rainfall to contend with and to try and make the best of. It hasn't rained properly for weeks - and it's all a bit odd. There are several water butts in our garden which collect the rainfall off various roofs and they are all completely empty. I don't ever remember that happening in all the twenty-five years we've lived here.
The only things that must be feeling at home with this hot, dry weather are things like this outdoor grapevine. These little would-be grapes must be loving it - so let's hope it will lead to a bumper harvest ........................
