Riverside Museum - Glasgow

A day trip to the new site of the Glasgow Transport Museum. A beautiful new building on the Clyde (although I miss the Kelvin Hall and a wee trip across the road to check out Salvador Dali's 'Christ on the Cross' in Kelvingrove Art Gallery).

The Riverside Museum was a big hit with the girls although there was some media controversy at the time it opened as people complained a lot of the exhibits are now up on walls and hard to see. Still it's a wonderful day out and something for everyone.

My girls particularly enjoyed the street recreation and trip into the Underground Station and the Shops.

Afterwards - a trip to my old home village to see Mr and Mrs Tickles and a cake pile that would do the Willow Tea Rooms proud !

To cap it off - a trip to Xscape at Braehead for dinner with my little brother - who insisted on taking us home 'off road' in his 22 year old 4X4 (sorry to local farmers but we stuck to the edges of the fields). Girls LOVED this !

Here's a blip of a rather lovely Glasgow Tram. My grandfather was a tram driver and the Glasgow Trams have a romantic appeal that you don't get from today's No 44 !

I love coming back to Glasgow and tonight I'm a very Proud Weegie !
