Made It!

Well, it's been a very interesting journey through the past three plus years!
It's actually a little over three years because there's been a handful of days I didn't post a photo.  There was much thought about what would be appropriate for this momentous photo.  I worked all day, thinking about it in all my spare thoughts.  Decided to go with the shells since they do hold a pretty significant place.  I love the sea and have collected shells from many beaches.  Many were collected as a family on annual trips to Puerto Rico when the family was young, some were collected by Sumner on several trips to Florida for various reasons.  They are scattered randomly about the house in glass vases, potpourri jars and on all the windowsills and corner tables.  Just recently I have placed them, along with rocks collected, in more obvious places as a reminder to be grateful for the blessings in our lives.

When I started this journal 3 years ago I was reeling from the loss of my daughter.  I was still in shock in many ways.  I felt that having one thing that was pleasant and positive to accomplish each day would get me to a better place.  It was something that Sumner loved to do - taking pictures and keeping that memory in a tangible way.  It was a connection to her.  And now it has given me a connection to all of you.  I don't know how long this will continue, but I am along for the ride and would feel an emptiness if I didn't do it.  So, I look forward to whatever lies ahead and thank you all for being part of this trip!
