GLIMPSED FROM THE TRAIN

I went up to Hexham today and saw this through the train window. I managed to trip over a kerb as soon as I left the station and grazed a hand and knee, but no real damage done although I'm beginning to stiffen up now. I made up for it with lunch with a lovely friend, who also happens to advise me about pensions and mortgage and always makes me feel positive about things.

The extra was taken in the Abbey. Imagine how many monks it took over how many centuries to wear away the sill like that.
