Highland cow

Very close to our home live 3 Highland cows. I see them often when I'm walking with Spike, my dog.
Friendly animals.

Last week my son Bas (11) came home very excited about a young calf that he and a schoolfriend found. It was only just born, lying in the grass, all wet, and his/her mother had (quote Bas) "things hanging out".

Today I took not only my dog, but also my 400mm lense with me for a walk. And there it was, the Scottish calf. One week old. It was running and jumping around, constantly protected by his/her mother.
