Saddell Abbey
Slightly overcast start to the day but the weather improved as the day went on.
Slightly concerned about Maeve today as she seemed to have difficulty with one of her back legs. She didn't appear to want to place too much weight on it. However, after her morning walk things seemed to thankfully resolve but we decided to give her a more restful day today.
Today we drove up the eastern side of the Kintyre Peninsula to Torrisdale Bay.
We had a lovely time wandering on the beach which is the haunt of Oystercatchers and Ringed Plovers.A few seals were in the bay.
I even spotted the Oystercatchers nest, the eggs are so well disguised against the pebbly beach (see extras).
On the way home we stopped at Saddell Abbey to have a look at the carved stones and to have a potter about.
Beautiful setting for the abbey in this lovely glen.(see extras)
There is a graveyard in the grounds of the now ruined Abbey where I spotted this rather interesting wrought iron gate.
Another nice day out :-)
