An Angel

A lovely late afternoon visit to Mum's friend, Marlene. She really is a house-bound angel, waiting hand-on-foot on her Alzheimer's stricken husband Ted. A little visit from time-to-time makes her day and we know that such a simple thing will provide her with happiness and good-natured gossip for months. It really is very sad to see this lovely lady so tied-up and yet so devoted to her ever-so-demanding.That really is true love.

Unfortunately, misfortune struck my oh-so unfortunate brother yet again. After registering Mum's death at the civic offices, a lorry rammed into the side of my brother's beautiful Jaguar causing about two thousand pounds worth of damage. The lorry driver claimed my brother "came out of nowhere."  Rubbish. They were side-by-side at the traffic lights, then the lorry scraped his car as they moved off together. Hoping that the security cameras outside nearby shops captured the incident so that the truck company's insurance will pay out.
