Big moth

While at the neighbours' house feeding their dogs (still) this large moth was warming itself on the stone by the front door. It ws s large as the door handle! 
Not having the camera with me I had to take care of the dogs' needs, rush back home to pick up the camera and return.... there it was, still basking on the warm rocks.
The people leave a light on above the door all night and various voths are attracted... mostly to their death.
This one flew off to enjoy another day.
Fortunately, the dog caring activity will end late tomorrow. They really are suspecting they have been abandoned!
