Endangered species

With a thunderstorm looming I thought I'd grab a couple of quick shots of the flowers in the grass downstairs. The results were less than stunning as the light become a bit murky but I thought these two made quite a sweet couple.

Just as well I took the shots then because half an hour later a couple of thugs the property management contractors turned up with a lawnmower and proceeded to eradicate every single flower. I was probably a little irrationally upset by this, but the fact is that the grass will never look like a bowling green but is so much more attractive with a whole variety of wild and semi-wild flowers in it - I'm turning into a proper tree-hugger in my old age!
