Moorland flowers
This morning I spent a couple of hours on Forvie Moor walking through the sea mist which had rolled in overnight. I was rewarded with the discovery of a plant that I have never seen before, or if I have then I have forgotten!
This lovely little thing is Chickweed wintergreen Trientalis europaea, a plant of the north. Although it flowers profusely it rarely sets seed but instead reproduces mainly by sending out suckers.
The "extra" is a Northern Marsh Orchid which was just beginning to burst into flower.
