Today's Specials

I had a very busy day.  Started out with a doctors appointment.  I was telling her about this nice little bistro in town which has recently opened.  I couldn't remember the name so I drove to it after my appointment, sat out front in the car and texted her the name, address and phone number.  I knew I had a few hours to kill before another medical appointment so I decided to go in for lunch.  The place is called the Mountain View Café and Bakery.

The food was terrific.  For the first time I had a prickly pear iced tea.  It was tasty.  I had the courage to try it because last night I had prickly pear cheesecake for dessert at a different place.  They are made from the juice of the prickly pear cactus. Reminded me of strawberry but not quite.  Very unique.

I decided a haircut was in order since the weather had turned so hot.  It was 114° yesterday and 111° today.  Starbucks was my next stop.  From there I made it to my final appointment.  Interestingly, having the need to park the car for a minimum of four times during the day, three times I found a spot in the shade.  It was my lucky day!  In heat like this, 'tis better to have to walk a bit through a parking lot than let your car heat to scalding temps.
