Barroso the Baker
Spent the entire day on the computer and suchlike, and nary a photo, and then straight to cooking dinner for six of us - good time, and I did take a photo, but wandered out into the night to see if I could get something better, even took my tripod - well, M did - and had some fun...
Then, nearing home, saw the bakery was open, so wandered in and said hello; Mike hiding out in the dark... Next thing, the baker was giving us a guided tour. He started baking in 1956, no electricity, would come to work with a box of matches, which he'd strike to see where the lamp was, so he could light it and get started. All sour dough then, and wood ovens. He's very proud of his "English" yeast and clean gas-fired ovens that hold 200 large loaves at once. At age 70+, still supervises the baking from when we saw him at near midnight until 4 in the morning.
Never too late to get a blip.
(If you want to see it done the old way, look at this by my blip friend in Cairo.)
