1958 (4): De Gaulle & Shopping

6th June 1958, the three are now in Toronto (my dad & grandparents). In the travel diary there is a full page describing the shopping experience, which must have been a totally different world to what was usual in a small Swiss village at that time, i.e.
- shopping for a full week
- pushing a shopping trolley
- taking goods directly out of the shelf
- music in the background
- etc.

They all bought sun protection hats in the shopping center and immediately received nicknames: Gangster for my dad and De Gaulle for my granddad.

Amazing to read what they visited in one single day:
- the place where my dad worked
- the shopping centre
- Ford production in Oakville
- Stockcar race after dinner
