Itoh Peony

Happy to have my 'tree peony" blooming. I took this photo inside.
They bloom earlier than garden peonies and have a musky fragrance like an expensive perfume.
These are such hardy plant! They cannot be moved once they are set in place-- or at least not safely so. Also, deer love to nibble them in the winter. This year I saved the 6 or 7 buds by placing a tall wire cage around the plant.
