Afternoon Tea

The young people at Newton Youth Club invited local people who've supported them to come for Afternoon Tea. We trooped along, to be welcomed at the door the village hall, taken to a table with a table number and chequered cloth and asked for our drink order. We were then brought a plate of sandwiches and cakes, all made that day by the young people. They're great bakers.

So PeerGroup had a very traditional afternoon. We were offered cucumber sandwiches, salmon sandwiches and ham sandwiches. No crusts of course. Then there was flapjack, chocolate brownies, angel cakes with homemade lemon curd and scones with cream.

It was an excellent little pop up tea shop and we know they'll be baking for our show. They'll be great at running our little interval cafe.
