Lincoln Cathedral

We travelled to Lincolnshire today, firstly to have lunch with Matt's Grandad and spend some time with him.  We enjoyed a fish and chip lunch and a good old chinwag.

We then went into Lincoln and checked in to our hotel,  one that accepts dogs, and was situated about 5 minutes walk from the Cathedral and just above the arboretum.  It was a really lovely place, so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.  The room was simple, clean and the bed comfy and a great view over the Arboretum.

We met up with John, our best man, and had a great afternoon wandering about the City, stopping to sup some ale and chat, it was warm and sunny and my pedometer tells we we walk about 8 miles in total.  We said goodbye to John about 9.30pm and wandered back to the Cathedral to see it lit up in floods lights.  This has to be the best Cathedral in the UK,  it is amazing both inside and out.

This view look like all three towers are aligned but of course they're not, and also a little corner of Lincoln Castle can be seen.

A really lovely day and I hope we can return to the Hill Crest Hotel again!
