Crossing the Dorback...

was no problem with the water incredibly low. It's a great area, full of Snipe, Curlew, Lapwings and Sandpipers, all calling! There was the inevitable Cuckoo too.
Later, in the wood, I found Pied Flycatchers.
The lochan was fringed with large Red Damselflies.
The buck in the extra, barked at me for ages.
For all it's accessibility. this area is little visited and rich in wildlife and walking opportunities.
Another scorcher in the 20s.
