Galatea
Yesterday, both 'Flying Scotsman' and 'Tornado', the steam engine built in 2008, were nearby but I didn't bother going to see them. The idiots who trespassed on the track a while ago on its first run have predictably spoiled things for everyone else as timetables are no longer published in advance and when you do get to see it, there are so many people there that it is difficult to get a decent view or shot. Apparently there were more instances of trespassing yesterday; at this rate there is a real risk that steam trains will be banned from the main line. Instead, I went to see Galatea this morning; a 'Jubilee' class No. 45699 on a run with the Cathedrals Express to Pwllheli.
Entertainment this afternoon is a choice between watching Andy Murray on TV in the final of the French Open, or walking down to the village recreation ground for 'North Crawley's Got Talent' and a display of vintage tractors, all in celebration of the Queen's 90th birthday. Sorry Andy; you never stood a chance.
