Moth enthusiast's delight.
This is an Elephant Hawk Moth which kindly volunteered to be the blip of the day.
In England and Wales they are fairly common from May to August. They are, however, beautiful creatures and are always a pleasure to see.
As you will note this one has suffered a little damage to the tip of its left wing. Mrs.K., who is a Photoshop wizard, offered to restore it to a pristine state. But I am a believer in showing life as it is and so politely declined her skills.
