Day 4 Look out for newborns

We have this birdbox outside our front door and as we left the house this afternoon to go to the allotment, we noticed a small face poking out. As we waited nearby, we could see the mother bird (blue tit) flying around nearby. Next thing we knew, below the face appeared two feet and the bird pulled itself out into the hole. It paused here for a couple of minutes looking around and then flew in a rather wobbly fashion to a nearby wall.
later when we returned from the allotment, it was in the hedge nearby - becoming independent.
While out running this evening, we also spotted a baby moorhen on the river being fed by its mother.
