Le pique-nique

This doesn't look as if it's just metres away from the busy autoroute between Carcassonne and Narbonne. It's a very popular rest area despite having no services apart from a toilet block. Most people sit around the parking area for their picnics, but this chap had walked just a few metres further to sit in a meadow with a wonderful view of La Cité.

I was on my way back from the official, as opposed to clandestine, choir meeting. A rather bad-tempered affair for some, much more talk of "reflection", "projects", and "structures", but the basic principle stands: a declaration of independence!

A quick lunch and then to B's to deliver some stuff for tomorrow's commemoration. We ended up sitting around chatting for ages; as we left a thunderstorm was starting to rumble. Hopefully it will happen tonight, and tomorrow will be fine.
