Sweetness

I have spent the day having a clear out.  I hadn't intended to do this but it just developed as the day progressed!  Two trips to the charity shop and I now feel much more organised and have more cupboard space.  The weather has remained overcast but it is brighter and warmer.  It is also humid and feels strangly cool for the temperature outside.  A thrush has been singing beautifully from a tree outside all day, as has a robin.  They have been a very relaxing sound-scape as I have done my sorting.

This rose came into bloom a few days ago.  It is the first to flower in my garden this summer and I just love it.  It reminds me of my sister as it was a birthday treat from her about 6 years ago - thanks Liz (:   Interestingly, I see from my blip of last year that it was in bloom a week or so earlier - a reflection of the cooler spring no doubt.
