Katelios beach, again, in reverse
We were ready early this morning as the bus was picking us up at 8-20am to take us to Kefalonia airport for the sad return home. I managed to get out with my camera before breakfast started at 8am, having taken our bags to the pick-up point and went a few yards away to the Paspalis hotel's pool. We've had a fine time staying here, with good food available in the restaurant and the pool offering me the swallows drinking in flight which I showed a few days ago. I have put a view looking away from the sea as an 'Extra photo' showing the pool and the hotel's various buildings behind. I love the colours of the yellow furniture, the blue water and the colours of the hotel's painted walls.
The tour operators were Thomas Cook and everything they have organised proved to be excellent. The bus arrived on time and proceeded to head to various other hotels where customers had been staying. We headed rounded the point which we had visited yesterday and drove towards the village and beach at Katelios. As we rounded the headland we saw this view looking down at the turtle beach, the small village and its harbour. It is the reverse view of yesterday's blip, taken through the bus window, and coincidentally the little van and trailer which I'd blipped can just be seen driving along the beach towards the place where the seaweed was being collected.
I have added another "Extra photo' of a view from the plane down over the Ionian islands soon after we took off from Kefalonia airport. The flight was on time and uneventful and we were pleased to arrive back to a sunny day in Bristol with an easy drive back home. It has been a wonderful week away, and we both want to go again. I shall have to save some money.
