revisiting the Miracle bear
Todays bear health check was Miracle - I've talked about her before - named Miracle because the bear bile farm thought she was all used up and had sent her to be butchered for meat - the truck was confiscated and she ended up with us :)
Then in April when the eye specialists were here we discovered a large mass in her abdomen and had to work late into the night to remove it.
Today she needed some teeth removed - bears in bile cages bite the bars of the cages a lot - through pain, boredom, frustration, - this weakens the teeth and they can fracture - either at the farm or years later. All went well and our lovely old arthritic Miracle has made it through another anaesthetic....
and yes you're right - this is a puppy not a bear! This is John - a cheeky little pup with massive ears and nose who came in terribly ill on the weekend - hes doing well now, just needs some fattening up. I ran down while Miracle was recovering to feed him and get him out for a walk (and for mutual cuddles)
