Taiko Drumming

Great fun at a Japanese Drumming workshop.  We all stood in a circle around the drum, chanted and made the beating movements, even when it wasn't our turn to be the drummer.  Physical, rhythmic, noisy, great fun. The skins at each end are loose, tensioned by the red ropes.  We were beating both the skin, and the wooden edge.  

I enjoyed the BBC Music Day Programme on Radio Scotland this evening. Bryan Burnett interviewing several musicians, then "Travis" at the Barrowlands Ballroom, accompanied by the BBC SSO.  Fantastic orchestral arrangements.
