Paeoniaceae
Something quite irresistable about the folded complexity of the Peony flower, even though such non-native plants aren't really 'up my strasse', so to speak. Interestingly, there's been a non-native, naturalised population of Paeonia mascula on Steep Holm (N Somerset) since 1803, and on Flat Holm (Glamorgan) since the 1980s. Good piece here about the 'peony mystery'.
Went off to see Jane Weaver at How The Light Gets In festival (Hay-on-Wye) Saturday night, which was very excellent indeed. Snap of me with the Janester in 'extras'!
