2016 Thursday -- Projects to Return

I've just about got the grading completed. I'll see students again this coming Tuesday for a last gathering. They will submit the "take-home Final Exam" and I will return the last of the graded projects. We'll say our final goodbyes and then they'll be gone. They will walk out the door and into summer and into their futures.

I am more than tired and my students are too. The spring semester exits to an entirely different tenor than the fall semester, which exits to the energy and excitement of the Christmas season. Now, after two semesters in a row, we're all pretty tired.

This semester was my every three year evaluation process and I am real glad that's over. It took all semester to get it done because the Dean arrived at the final meeting five weeks ago and had not written her report for my evaluation -- sheeeeesh! So we had to meet again yesterday for the grand finale meeting. My evaluation was stamped "satisfactory" and now I'm "allowed to unbuckle my seatbelt and move about the cabin freely" for another three years. If they had scored me "Needs Improvement," then I would not be allowed to teach any overload classes or labs, which is a direct hit in the pocketbook. So thankful this evaluation season has concluded.

Good night from southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
