The Meadow, looking East
Just back from five days camping on the Field near Tuttington with friends. The first day was glorious, sun from dawn till dusk. Though from then onwards it was mostly overcast with a chill wind. I will post a few back blips in the next day or so.
Today I have been unpacking and as it was too cold to do much out of doors, I sat and read "H is for Hawk" by Helen Macdonald. Then I made a vegetable curry and while I was waiting for the rice to cook, I went out into the meadow and took a couple of photos including this one. Nothing too out of the ordinary. It is still very cold for June and the sky is still overcast. As it was just getting dark, we looked out of the window and saw two young barn owls playing over the meadow, circling around one another in dizzy spirals and screeching at one another. It is a sight I have not seen before.
