Arch abstract

This morning we had to change hotels so after a copious breakfast at the Ibis we trundled our two cabin sized bags behind us and headed for the station. Our first purchase was umbrellas! I was perusing some rather expensive looking ones when a young Canadian couple told us they were far too expensive and we could get them elsewhere for half the price! They were charming and told us about Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec and what to see as we are going there this summer. We chatted for a short time and parted! Wonderful meeting such people!

We walked across town via the Apple Store, and arrived at the hotel after one. We had spotted the huge fountain in the middle of the lake. Le Jet d'eau. Yes we are in Geneva. We must have seen shops with all the big names! Some very expensive clothes, handbags.....oh and chocolate!

Lunch was at 'Le pain Quotidien ' delicious! Finishing off with the most wonderful raspberry tarts filled with huge firm tasty fruit!

Up the hill to the Cathédral Saint-Pierre. Most of it is quite austere and then we went into the 'Chapelle des Macchabées. An explosion of colour hits you! My blip is part of the arch over the entrance to the chapel. I thought it would be ideal for the challenge!

Back to the hotel for a rest and yesterday's blip and then out again . Walked down by the lake and stopped to eat in a Brazilian family restaurant. A help yourself. The best part was the smiles of the staff and the mango juice!
