Holwell Lawn

We're very proud of our Dartmoor bluebells. They're the native kind of course and on this high ground they bloom late. Therein lies the trouble of course,  because by the time we get to show them off, everyone's seen enough pictures of bluebells for the year! 

I photographed the Emsworthy ones last week and today I went up to Holwell Lawn, behind Haytor, where the display is looking wonderful at the moment. I always look for the hawthorn tree to be in blossom because it's the perfect foil for the blue but this year it's very late and only just starting to bloom. I do like the blue skies and wispy clouds
