Treasurers House York
Frustrated with the current weather we planned a visit to a house we had never visited before. It stands close to the Minster in York and was the home of an industrialist Frank Green. He gave it to the National Trust on the understanding it would never be changed.
It was an interesting visit especially as I was born in York and Richard worked in York. We both had managed to visit buildings in the vicinity but never crossed the threshold of this building. We can recommend the cafe in the basement but did not have time for the ghostly cellar tour where the ghost of a Roman soldier is alleged to have been seen.
The extra is the street leading to the house and gives an unusual view of the Minister.
