Santa Sean
Today, I watched my niece (she's my BFFs daughter, so thus the italics)...for 2 1/2 hours!! Seems my dear friend got herself lost within a black hole, otherwise known as the mall, as she shopped for a dress appropriate for a work-related Christmas party. The kids got along well, and I didn't have to resort to Thomas on TV until the last 15 minutes.
Sean's usual angelic behavior was replaced with monster mania this morning, so I was scared to take on another kid...especially because today was what I'd like to call a 'whiny day'. I spent most of my day, at his eye-level, saying "That is not how you speak...Use your words." Exhausted is an understatement of feelings right now.
As odd as it may sound though, taking care of two kids is actually easier than taken care of one. Sure they fight sometimes, and I have to play referee...And there are times when one is quiet while the other is being obnoxious...But for the most part, they entertain each other, even if they don't actually play together and just sit with different toys side-by-side.
I love my son, more than anything, but sometimes the insistent, and constant Mommy, Mommy, Mommy gets to the point of nerve shredding. That's when I call up Erin and say "What do you have to do today, because I'm free to babysit!"
With that said, don't let the picture fool you...He truly was a little butthead this morning!
