The road to retirement.

Yet another friend/ colleague made the great escape this term! Today we celebrated her with a magnificent afternoon tea at a historical hotel , which is the former home of W.S. Gilbert. (Actually he drowned in the lake there trying to rescue a local girl, who got into difficulties.) It has beautiful grounds and a lovely driveway lined with rhododendrons.
I digress. Jane ( the retiree) and I have worked happily together for twenty years. I will miss her.
