HMS Invincible, sank at Jutland
HMS Invincible was completely destroyed by the German Navy at the Battle of Jutland on Wednesday 31st May 1916 at 1834 hours.
The Captain was A. L. Cay and the ship was flying the flag of Rear Admiral Hood.
1031 men were aboard the ship and only 6 survived.
This photograph was taken from an original postcard of the ship. The writing around the edge says :

Arc Chatham Royal Naval Barracks called HMS Pembroke
The card was sent (from Leicester) to A.C Roberts, Yeoman of Signals at the Royal Naval Barracks at Chatham on 8th September 1914, eighteen months before HMS Invincible was lost.
