Anglo concertina
This is my favourite concertina, a Jeffries GD made sometime in the nineteenth century. Loud, brash and wonderful. We are in Jersey on one of our regular babysitting visits and the concertina fits nicely in the cabin luggage. I regularly have to get it out at airport security and usually give them a tune. Hey ho!
Janet is learning a new dance, Dubuque, an Appalachian dance that I would normally accompany on tha banjo or mandolin but have been playing on the Anglo today. Not keen on the usual tune so have been playing Over the Waterfall instead. Sounds ok to me although the Anglo is not your usual Appalachian instrument.
Kirstens neighbours seem to know that we are in Jersey when they hear the Anglo. Apparently their kids start dancing too!
