Baby Blackbird

Among the hordes of squawking young Starlings, I spotted this lovely Blackbird baby - just pottering about at the base of the ivy - I saw a couple of adults too but didn't see them feed the youngster. I was so pleased as I had hoped they were nesting in the hedge after the lilac in which they used to nest was taken down. 
The extra shows a Greenfinch which landed on the ground near me the other evening - I put it into the Buddleia away from the dogs and next door's cat, but found it dead the next morning - such a beautiful creature.
