It's a baldy bald life!

Granton Harbour

I wish we had a little longer in bed! Rosemary was doing Parkrun though and I had decided to do the Saturday ride.

The group was massive so I decided to head out ahead of the group but got stopped at a set of traffic lights and found myself at the front of a 50 strong peloton. The guy beside me started 1/2 wheeling, a total cycling faux pas, in which they speed up a little every time your front wheel draws level. I gave him a wee tap, said 'half wheel' nicely and he got a little aggressive. Grrrr, knob!

In Dalkeith, we broke off into smaller groups and I was pleased to have a nice one. The pace was hard but not unduly so, that was until The Parachute, the road linking Drem with the coast, and I ended up breathing from more orifices than desirable. I got dropped and then caught behind a Land Rover, but hung in there and caught the group before Gullane.

Heading down the hill past the golf course we saw riders down from the group in front.....one appeared to have a broken collar bone by the way he looked.

Beyond Aberlady, a few riders started driving through hard and I was on my limit.....and knew I was a goner as soon as we hit the wee rise a Longniddry. Rather, when they turned left, I carried straight on, recovered for a minute and then time trialled back to Musselburgh, twiddled from there and stopped off to pick up bread from Breadshare.

We had a lazy afternoon, then went and did the shopping. After dinner we had a wee pedal to buy chocolate and we explored Granton Harbour where I got some nice pictures.
