Asparagus
On leaving Wellington nearly three years ago, a thoughtful colleague and friend gave me effectively a do-it-yourself asparagus pack.
Never a short process the seed were duly planted and nurtured. today was our first crop.Not much this year, but one is led to believe that each year more will come. Fingers crossed as it is a great taste.
Some Belgian friends with a house nearby came around for dinner tonight and sadly 3/4 of an asparagus stalk was never going to be sufficient and so other fare was prepared. In the end, I went for a good traditional English curry. Food was eaten, wine was drunk and a variety of languages were murdered but a genial time.
