San Biagio

Towards sunset we travelled the short distance to the church of San Biagio nestled below the highest hilltop town in Tuscany, Montepulciano. With variable skies over the sun we had to wait for when the breaks in the clouds allowed the sun to illuminate the church and town with a golden glow.
( Much) earlier in the day we photographed the dawn at a picturesque dilapidated farmhouse near Castiglione d" Orcia shown in the extras.
Throughout the trip I managed to make a few close up images of the roadside verges with their wonderful wildflowers. One of these taken in the afternoon is also in the extras.
