We were out early to beat the crowds and walked from home up the Scandale valley and back. Not all the way to the Pass but we covered at least 5 miles.  Going back down we were passed by these two horses and riders going up. I didn't hear or see them coming so was lucky when one out of two shots turned out ok. 

This used to be the Packhorse route over to Ullswater before people started using Kirkstone Pass.
