Where will it lead?
I wandered down by Evans Lookout this morning. The light was lovely. The wind had died down. Cool but very pleasant. In generations past countless Sydney couples had got acquainted on outings to the Blue Mountains or else had honeymooned here ... like my own parents once did.
It's a "more sophisticated" age we live in today, I suppose. No self respecting honeymoon couple seems content with anything less than an extravagant world tour to begin their marriages.
The romantic in me hopes that young couples DO still come here to commence life's big adventure together. I noticed this pair wandering along the lookout fence, hand in hand. Where will their relationship lead? In 40 years time will there be children, grandchildren, rich family history and tradition? Will the Blue Mountains remain a special place for them ... where perhaps it all began? Humph! Maybe I am just a silly old dreamer.
